Salary: $185,000 - $195,000/year (Boston, MA; varies by skills, experience, location).

What you will do

• Own the Vision technical roadmap, set architectural direction, and align with business outcomes in asset allocation and quant strategies.
• Lead a high-performing engineering team: hire, mentor, manage, and ensure reliable delivery.
• Institutionalize AI tools for coding, testing, documentation, and prototyping with review standards.
• Lead API design, caching, high-scale ETL from data providers, with strong SLAs and observability.
• Drive quality, reliability, testing, CI/CD, SLOs, on-call, and incident management.
• Optimize cloud costs and performance through FinOps practices.
• Ensure security, compliance, and stakeholder collaboration across teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years in software engineering with 3–5+ years leading teams as engineering/senior manager on cloud-native platforms.
• Proven system design expertise in distributed systems, data pipelines, APIs, caching.
• AI-assisted development fluency: daily use of tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude; evaluate AI-generated code.
• Hands-on in Python (ETL, profiling), datastores (SQL/NoSQL), AWS, Docker, CI/CD.
• Track record in observability, testing culture, release safety.
• Strong communication to translate investment workflows into technical solutions.
• Experience with LLM/AI integration, retrieval/embeddings, prompt engineering.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with fin/quant data, portfolio analytics.
• FinOps tooling experience.
• Masters in Statistics, Computer Science or similar from top-tier institution.
• CFA, CPA, CIPM, CAIA, FRM.
