TL;DR

Head of Design (Hospitality AI SaaS): Define and enforce unified design system across all product surfaces with an accent on components, information hierarchy, and interaction principles for human users and AI agents. Focus on creating specifications for AI coding agents, auditing existing surfaces, and partnering with engineering for scalable design governance.

Location: Hybrid in New York, NY. Travel to offices in New York, San Francisco, or Dallas reimbursed.

Salary: $250,000 - $290,000 a year

What you will do

• Define and enforce unified design system including components, spacing, typography, color, and layout patterns.
• Establish information hierarchy standards for clear communication of priority, status, and actions.
• Build rigid yet flexible design principles for diverse hospitality workflows and AI enforcement.
• Create precise specifications enabling AI agents to generate compliant UI without review.
• Audit and converge existing surfaces to a coherent system.
• Partner with engineering and product to make design system the source of truth.
• Design for AI agents interacting with UI in voice, chat, and autonomous modes.

Requirements

• 8+ years in Product Design with 3+ years leading teams; B2B/B2B2C SaaS experience preferred.
• Portfolio showing end-to-end systems thinking, product craft, shipped web/mobile work at scale.
• Proven recruiting, developing, retaining design talent; strong in feedback and coaching.
• Strong partnership with Product/Engineering; comfortable in ambiguity and rapid iteration.
• Fluency in design systems, accessibility, UX research, experimentation, analytics tools.
• Hands-on with Figma, tokens, specs; strategic on principles and governance.
