TL;DR

Business Development-Capture Manager VII (Product/Manufacturing/Engineering): Driving strategic growth across productized solutions and manufacturing capabilities in aerospace and defense with an accent on opportunity identification, customer engagement, and alignment with DoD and OEM priorities. Focus on leading capture efforts, developing win strategies, and integrating technical solutions for scalable mission delivery.

Location: Remote – National Capitol Region (50% travel)

Salary: $170,644–$210,000

What you will do

  • Develop and execute growth strategies aligned to aerospace, defense, and OEM priorities like LVC, C3BM, hypersonics, and avionics.
  • Identify opportunities, shape requirements, and build a qualified pipeline for product delivery and manufacturing solutions.
  • Engage senior government stakeholders, OEMs, and partners to position offerings and become approved suppliers.
  • Lead capture efforts including win strategies, teaming, pricing, and proposal development.
  • Integrate product roadmaps and manufacturing capabilities like rapid prototyping and digital twins into growth plans.
  • Own pipeline development, bookings targets, revenue growth, and B&P ROI while mentoring growth professionals.

Requirements

  • Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's with 16+ years or Master’s with 14+ years in business development, capture, or growth in Aerospace and Defense.
  • Proven track record winning and shaping complex DoD opportunities with product/manufacturing focus.
  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, communication, and negotiation skills for government and OEM stakeholders.
  • Experience with non-traditional pathways (OTA, CSO), cross-functional teams, and translating drawings/TDPs to BOM.
  • Recognized specialist with technical expertise across disciplines and market trend analysis.

Nice to have

  • Experience securing major government contracts and leading large-scale captures.
  • Deep knowledge of federal acquisition regulations, APMP or PMP certification.
  • Familiarity with DoD modernization priorities, consortia like SOSSEC/NSTXL, and CRADA frameworks.
  • Project estimation, build-to-print quotes, avionics integration experience.
