TL;DR

Senior Signal and Power Integrity Hardware Engineer: Develop measurement instrument products through signal and power integrity analysis for complex PCB and package designs with an accent on high-speed digital, analog, and RF circuits. Focus on modeling, simulation, timing, impedance, and electromagnetic analysis to ensure compliance with performance targets and manufacturability.

Location: North Reading, MA, US. Only considering candidates local to position location; unable to provide relocation.

Salary: $141,400–226,200

What you will do

  • Perform signal and power integrity analysis for complex PCB and package designs.
  • Model and simulate high-speed digital, analog, and RF circuits using industry-standard tools.
  • Conduct timing, impedance, electromagnetic field, S-parameter, and PDN analysis.
  • Collaborate with hardware, PCB layout, and manufacturing teams to guide design decisions and ensure targets are met.
  • Validate simulation results in the lab with VNAs, TDRs, and high-speed oscilloscopes.
  • Support design reviews and work with fabricators to improve processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electronics preferred).
  • 12+ years in hardware engineering developing equivalent technologies.
  • Strong understanding of EM theory, transmission line theory, impedance control, and EMI/EMC mitigation.
  • Experience with modeling/simulating PCBs and packages for SI/PI and timing analysis.
  • Familiarity with IBIS models (IBIS 7.0 standard).
  • Proficiency with Cadence Sigrity, Ansys HFSS/SI-Wave/Maxwell/3D Layout, HyperLynx, ADS, SPICE tools (Cadence Spectre, PSpice, HSpice).
  • Experience with PCB design workflows, Cadence Allegro, Concept schematic entry, 2D/3D electromagnetic solvers.
  • Strong analytical skills with hands-on lab experience.

Nice to have

  • High-voltage PCB design experience (1kV or higher).
  • Programming skills in Tcl, Python, Perl, MATLAB, C/C++, C#, or Visual Basic.
