TL;DR

Account Executive (LegalTech): Build and own end-to-end GTM motion from lead generation through close for AI platform transforming patent workflows with an accent on networking with IP leaders, product demos, and enterprise deal negotiation. Focus on developing sales playbook, achieving revenue targets, and providing feedback to AI and product teams.

Location: In-office in NYC

Compensation: $240K–$400K (base $120K–$200K + commission)

YC-backed AI company building platform for patent drafting, prosecution, and litigation with 400+ enterprise customers and eight-figure ARR.

What you will do

  • Build and own GTM motion from lead gen to close and onboarding
  • Network with IP leaders at law firms and enterprises, attend global conferences
  • Conduct product demos showcasing AI impact on patent practice
  • Negotiate and close enterprise deals, manage full sales cycle
  • Develop sales playbook and document learnings for team scaling
  • Provide feedback to AI PhDs, developers, and patent attorneys on customer needs
  • Build long-term relationships in IP ecosystem and exceed revenue targets

Requirements

  • 3+ years closing sales experience as high-performing AE at startup/tech company
  • Experience selling complex SaaS to mid-market/enterprise in technical/vertical niche
  • Exceptionally clear written/verbal communication
  • Metrics-driven mindset, extreme work ethic, high energy
  • Comfort with ambiguity in fast-paced early-stage startup
  • Technical undergraduate degree in STEM (strong preference)

Nice to have

  • Experience with patent prosecution or legal background
  • Existing IP network (in-house counsel/law firm contacts)
  • Entrepreneurial experience or side projects
