What you will do

  • Act as the lead point of contact for all schemes, defining and managing a complex roadmap of joint strategic, commercial, and technical initiatives.
  • Identify new product opportunities and features by leveraging scheme and partner capabilities.
  • Define and execute strategies to optimize merchant costs associated with scheme and Amex transactions, while unlocking growth partnerships that drive Prime membership.
  • Support on developing a long-term strategic view for the payments function, identifying new market expansion and revenue opportunities.
  • Manage the full end-to-end relationship with key PSPs, moving from a transaction focus to a strategic partnership that ensures redundancy, smart routing, and innovative feature integration.
  • Drive alignment and secure required capabilities across all internal teams to successfully scope, implement, and launch new payment initiatives and partnerships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in a strategic payments, banking, or fintech role, preferably in a high-volume e-commerce or OTA environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and negotiating complex, strategic relationships with major card schemes (Visa, Mastercard) or top-tier issuing banks/PSPs.
  • Profound understanding of the global payments ecosystem, including card issuing, acquiring, scheme rules, fraud management, and compliance (PSD2/SCA).
  • Excellent executive presence, negotiation, and communication skills, with a track record of driving strategic consensus among diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to build and defend data-driven business cases for multi-million euro initiatives.

  • Proven knowledge and experience leveraging generative AI tools for enhanced productivity, strategic analysis, and communication.
  • Demonstrated comfort using practical AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI-powered coding assistants.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to explore, experiment with, and integrate emerging AI-driven solutions into software development workflows.
