Legal Counsel (Maternity Cover)

TL;DR

Legal Counsel: Providing legal advice and support to Human Resources and management, focusing on employment law matters including compliance, individual and collective employment rights, discrimination, migration law and litigation. Focus on drafting agreements, policies, letters, and handbooks, advising on recruitment, employee relations, and coordinating responses to region-specific legal requirements.

Location: Hilversum. Hybrid work model, combining office and remote working.

What you will do

• Provide day-to-day legal advice and support to Human Resources and management.
• Handle employment-related legal issues including compliance, individual and collective employment rights, discrimination, migration law and litigation.
• Draft employment agreements, policies, letters, and handbooks.
• Advise on recruitment, hiring, employee relations, discipline, and terminations.
• Assist with employee investigations and negotiate with the works council and unions.
• Coordinate external legal support.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience as a lawyer and/or as in-house counsel.
• Substantial knowledge of and experience with employment law (compensation & benefits, works council/unions, pensions, immigration, health & safety).
• Pragmatic business partner with great organizational, analytical, entrepreneurial and communicational skills.
• High degree of independence, initiative and decisiveness.
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
