Flight Software Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite at the HQ in Mountain View, California, United States; travel required approximately 10% of the time.

Estimated base salary: $180K–$260K, plus equity and stock options.

What you will do

• Lead and grow the team responsible for safety-critical flight software.
• Mature engineering processes while balancing rapid execution with formal DO-178C verification.
• Support the integration and testing of Guidance, Navigation, and Control algorithms.
• Define software architecture and technical roadmaps for certification.
• Provide technical and architectural guidance across flight controls and redundancy management.
• Coordinate with GNC, Avionics, Systems, and Hardware leads to manage priorities and deliver certifiable flight software.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of professional experience in real-time embedded software development using C/C++.
• 3+ years of experience in technical leadership or people management.
• Experience with complex hardware-software systems, GNC algorithms, flight dynamics, and state estimation.
• Experience designing fault-tolerant systems and redundancy management schemes.
• Applicants must provide documentation establishing U.S. person or non-U.S. person status for access to export-controlled technology; authorization may be required.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling teams and maturing development processes in a high-growth environment.
• Experience with the full lifecycle of a DO-178C certification program.
• Professional experience with Python for tooling, testing, and data analysis.
