Embedded Software Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Johnson City, Tennessee, United States; Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts

Salary: $70,000–$100,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, develop, modify, and evaluate embedded software and firmware for military and aerospace systems.
• Develop and maintain embedded Linux board support packages, bootloaders, kernels, package management, and system/application configurations.
• Write and maintain shell scripts, Python scripts, and C/C++ code for system configuration, automation, and application development.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to troubleshoot software and system issues.
• Create version description documents and software releases according to established procedures.
• Debug, update, and maintain software in a rapidly evolving design environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, physics, or a closely related technical field.
• Three years of embedded software engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Proficiency in C/C++, bash, and Python scripting.
• Experience with HDL/RTL for FPGA design, testbench development, and simulation is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work onsite in Johnson City, Tennessee, United States.
• The position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
