TL;DR

Head of Skills & Capability (Talent & Inclusion): Leading the organization's skills, learning, and capability agenda to ensure workforce readiness with an accent on strategic workforce planning and digital skills ecosystems. Location: Flexible (UK)

Salary: £130,000 - £165,000

What you will do

  • Lead the organization-wide Skills & Capability strategy, ensuring alignment with workforce priorities and long-term strategic plans.
  • Translate organizational change and operating models into adaptable skills frameworks and career pathways.
  • Design differentiated skills approaches for editorial, production, technology, and corporate populations.
  • Build a data-driven understanding of organizational capability, skills supply, demand, and progression.
  • Create and embed a digital skills ecosystem, driving the adoption of AI-enabled skills tools.
  • Lead and empower a high-performing, multidisciplinary skills team to drive organizational value.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to create and deliver a compelling, organization-wide vision for skills and capability.
  • Significant experience leading large-scale skills and capability strategies in complex environments.
  • Ability to anticipate sector shifts and translate insights into practical, adaptive responses.
  • Excellent influencing and partnership-building skills with senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Experience leading complex organizational change with a data-led and commercially aware approach.
  • Must be based in the UK

Nice to have

  • Deep knowledge of emerging skills technologies and AI-enabled skills tools.
  • Experience designing skills frameworks for diverse workforce populations.
  • Background in workforce planning, talent management, or organizational development.
  • Experience representing an organization externally on capability or learning agendas.
  • Ability to oversee commercial and supplier arrangements to ensure ROI.
