Salary: $290,000–$325,000

What you will do

• Define and execute the unified technology strategy for data acquisition and processing with an AI-first mindset.
• Lead, hire, and develop a global team of platform and software engineers, including managing other managers.
• Establish and own operational KPIs for platform throughput, latency, and system availability across production environments.
• Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of the data collection platform, from architectural planning to deployment and optimization.
• Collaborate with Product and Data Operations to industrialize collection workflows and standardize best practices for ingestion.
• Guide architectural decisions via ADRs and enforce standards for distributed systems design and CI/CD.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in large-scale software engineering or platform architecture, with 7+ years in technical leadership.
• Expertise in distributed systems (event-driven, microservices, stream processing) and cloud-native architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Proficiency with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles.
• Experience optimizing large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines and implementing DataOps/MLOps principles.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
• Requirement to be in the office 5 days a week in Seattle.

• Contributions to the platform engineering community via open-source projects or technical publications.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
