TL;DR
Senior Counsel - Commercial (Climatetech): Providing strategic and transactional legal support for commercial efforts of a global energy storage company with an accent on drafting and negotiating utility-scale EPC and energy agreements. Focus on managing project development, project finance, and acquisition activities while mitigating legal and business risks.
Location: Remote (Must be based in the US)
Salary: $146,000 - $190,000 a year

What you will do
- Draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, including EPC, EEQ Agreements, LTSAs, Offtake Agreements, and PPAs.
- Support project development and acquisition via interconnection, land, lease, and Joint Development Agreements.
- Manage project finance activities by drafting and negotiating financing, tax, and ITC agreements.
- Advise business teams on construction-related issues, including change orders, waivers, and warranty claims.
- Provide commercial legal guidance on corporate matters, intellectual property, UCC, and risk assessment.
- Support M&A activities through due diligence and negotiation while managing external legal advisors.
Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school and membership in a state bar in good standing.
- 6+ years of total work experience after law school.
- 3+ years of experience with EPC contract drafting and negotiations.
- 2+ years of experience in power generation, renewables, and/or energy storage.
- Ability to manage workload autonomously and handle competing priorities.
- Must be based in the US and successfully pass a pre-employment background check (E-Verify participant).
