What you will do

• Partner with Origination and Commercial teams to negotiate offtake and tolling agreements.
• Conduct legal due diligence and lead negotiations for M&A opportunities.
• Review RFPs and develop comprehensive bid submittals, including agreement markups.
• Act as the internal lead for offtake transactions, incorporating feedback from subject matter experts.
• Collaborate with the Finance team to provide commercial deliverables for project finance transactions.
• Oversee and assist in the selection of outside counsel for select transactions.

Requirements

• J.D. degree is required.
• 3-4 years of top-tier law firm experience in renewable energy project development.
• Experience leading negotiations of power purchase agreements.
• Experience structuring and negotiating project-scale M&A transactions.
• Knowledge of project finance structures and their implications on M&A and development.
• Must be based in the US to support North American electric grid projects.

Nice to have

• 1-2 years of in-house legal experience with a renewable energy/storage developer or investor-owned utility.
