TL;DR

Software Engineer I, Backend (Fintech): Designing and implementing new features in an underwriting platform to support partnered merchants and users with an accent on scalability and distributed systems. Location: Remote (Must be based in the USA)

Salary: $115,000 - $170,000 per year

What you will do

  • Implement new features in the underwriting platform to support merchants and users across various interfaces.
  • Collaborate with Product and Credit Risk teams to solve complex challenges in protecting consumers from overextending credit.
  • Design and develop backend systems, ensuring high quality and system stability to prevent downtime.
  • Participate in code reviews and navigate a large codebase to debug and improve software components.
  • Engage in growth and development activities to contribute to the team's engineering community.

Requirements

  • Previous work or internship experience designing and launching backend systems at scale.
  • Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
  • Familiarity with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
