Senior Software Engineer with Accounting Experience (Chile)

Location: Remote in Chile

Salary: $5,000–$9,500 gross USD per month

What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize systems for financial reporting, reconciliation, and automation.
• Build software applications and features in Go, including REST APIs and distributed services.
• Create reports and automations with Python and SQL.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design through deployment.
• Develop metrics, improve existing products, and deliver testable features meeting reporting and compliance standards.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Accounting, Finance, and other internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• 7+ years of full-stack software engineering experience; the compensation level references 8+ years.
• Experience building and serving REST APIs with Go, Java, Python, or a similar language.
• Required experience using Claude or equivalent large language model tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL and commercial APIs or web applications.
• Experience with containerized microservices on Kubernetes and AWS, plus production monitoring and alerting.

Nice to have

• Previous experience as an accountant or financial analyst.
• Knowledge of reconciliation, financial reporting, compliance, banking, or financial institutions.
• Experience with Prometheus, New Relic, or Datadog.
