Salary: $133,100—$252,900 USD

What you will do

• Manage, mentor, and lead a globally distributed team of Java engineers working on search functionality.
• Lead the efficient delivery of search enhancements with regular releases of hirify.globalsearch.
• Collaborate with product managers to define requirements, build roadmaps, and lead prioritization.
• Foster a culture of mutual respect, collaboration, and consensus-based decision-making.
• Identify resource requirements and drive the recruitment of high-quality engineering colleagues.
• Support the professional development of direct reports through regular 1:1s and career conversations.

Requirements

• Experience leading distributed teams of software engineers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to drive conversations across multiple teams.
• Proven track record of writing performant software and fixing complex performance issues.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, distributed environment.
• Previous experience working with collaborators outside of the Engineering department.

Nice to have

• Significant experience as a hands-on software engineer.
• Experience working with Lucene or Solr.
• Contributions to Open Source projects.
• Prior professional exposure to hirify.globalsearch.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
