What you will do

• Define and build industry-first airspace management technologies (UTM) to enable the scaling of the commercial drone network.
• Develop core services for equitable airspace access, flight deconfliction, and simulation.
• Build systems with a strict focus on correctness, testability, and auditability.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including system design, implementation, and rollout.
• Engage with the open-source community related to drone airspace management.
• Mentor engineering team members through code reviews and architectural guidance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering designing secure and reliable real-time systems.
• Expertise in designing APIs and sophisticated data models.
• Experience building scalable and reliable distributed systems.
• Proficiency in deploying systems to AWS and Kubernetes.
• Strong track record of owning complex problems end-to-end.
• Must be located in South San Francisco, California, USA
