What you will do

• Design, build, and operate large-scale Kafka and Flink infrastructure for tier-0 and tier-1 workloads.
• Lead critical initiatives in streaming platform modernization and architecture evolution.
• Develop streaming control planes, APIs, and CLIs to standardize resource management.
• Improve platform reliability through SLO definition, monitoring, and incident response.
• Enable simplified stream processing patterns for internal product and engineering teams.
• Evaluate and integrate modern streaming ecosystem capabilities, including real-time AI integration patterns.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Significant production experience with Kafka and/or Flink.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience operating services in cloud environments like AWS and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Must be based in the United States (with limited exceptions).
• Strong systems design skills with a focus on consistency, state management, and fault tolerance.

Nice to have

• Experience working with streaming vendors like Confluent, MSK, or Redpanda.
• Demonstrated experience leading system design for complex, multi-team platform initiatives.
• Background in reliability engineering or platform engineering.
• Experience integrating streaming systems with analytics platforms like Databricks.
