Location: Based at South San Francisco HQ. Must be eligible to work in the United States

Salary: $160,000 - $200,000

What you will do

• Develop and execute strategies for securing operationally critical land use, zoning, and permitting approvals in key U.S. markets.
• Interpret, draft, and analyze municipal ordinances affecting site development and operations.
• Build and maintain relationships with planning and zoning commissions, city councils, and local staff.
• Represent the company in public hearings and stakeholder meetings regarding land use matters.
• Resolve complex property law issues, including easements, boundary lines, and access rights.
• Partner with Operations and Engineering teams to ensure legal strategies align with technical realities.

Requirements

• JD Degree and membership in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• At least 5 years of relevant legal practice in U.S. land use, zoning, and municipal law.
• Proven track record of delivering high-stakes regulatory approvals under tight timelines.
• Strong persuasive communication skills for engaging with regulators and community stakeholders.
• Pragmatic, business-oriented risk assessment and independent judgment skills.
