Engineering Manager, Observability (Fintech): Leading a team of engineers building and evolving foundational observability systems including metrics, logging, and tracing. Location: Based in Toronto, Canada; in-person attendance expected 4 days per week.

Salary: $200,000 - $235,000 CAD

What you will do

  • Lead and support a team of engineers building observability systems, including metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting infrastructure.
  • Guide the design and improvement of data ingestion pipelines and storage systems for high-volume telemetry data.
  • Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration of observability into all services.
  • Improve system reliability by reducing the time required to detect and resolve production issues.
  • Manage team priorities, support professional career development, and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality engineering work.

Requirements

  • Experience managing engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Background in infrastructure, reliability, or observability systems such as metrics, logging, or distributed tracing.
  • Experience working with technologies such as Kubernetes, distributed systems, and cloud-based platforms.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar monitoring solutions.
  • Must be based in Toronto and able to attend the office 4 days per week.
