What you will do
- Lead and grow a team of engineers, fostering a high-performance and results-driven culture.
- Design and build robust, scalable external-facing APIs that power customer workflows.
- Act as a hands-on technical leader, spending approximately 50% of the time on backend engineering tasks.
- Optimize database performance and query efficiency within PostgreSQL environments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate complex product requirements into reliable business solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve critical customer issues to ensure system stability and performance.
Requirements
- Must be based in the USA
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in a full-time engineering management role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python and relational databases like PostgreSQL.
- Deep understanding of system design, debugging, and asynchronous cloud workflows (AWS Lambda/EC2).
- Proven track record of managing complex, cross-team projects and hiring top-tier engineering talent.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, experimental, and results-oriented environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with LLMs or Generative AI integrations.
- Background in distributed systems architecture.
