Engineering Manager (Fintech)

TL;DR

Engineering Manager (Fintech): Build and manage engineering teams to develop features, services, and infrastructure for the core of the hirify.global platform with an accent on high-reliability distributed services. Focus on solving the low-latency and high-conformance challenges of a rapidly evolving ecosystem.

Location: New York City presence preferred. The role is remote-friendly but we prefer candidates who can commute to our NYC office for stakeholder meetings and project work as needed.

Salary: $218,025 — $256,500 USD

What you will do

• Build and manage engineering teams to develop features, services, and infrastructure.
• Coach direct reports to positively impact the organization and support their career growth.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to translate vision into a tangible roadmap.
• Aid in architectural decisions and foster a culture of high-quality code and engineering processes.
• Recruit exceptional engineers who align with hirify.global's culture and contribute to products.
• Contribute to and take ownership of processes that drive engineering quality and meet SLAs.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in software engineering and 2 years of engineering management experience.
• Strong understanding of high-quality code and effective software engineering processes.
• Execution-focused mindset, capable of navigating through ambiguity and delivering results.
• Ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with short-term planning.
• Experience in creating, delivering, and operating multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
• Ability to be hands-on when needed, including writing/reviewing code, participating in on-call rotations, and troubleshooting bugs.
• Passion for building an open financial system.
• Demonstrates the ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots in daily workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience in the Auth domain OR financial systems.
• Experience managing a larger group of engineers (~15).
• New York City location presence preferred.
