What you will do

• Drive department-wide strategy for engineering practices, architecture, and technical scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional product and design leads to define project roadmaps and business objectives.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams to foster high-quality software delivery.
• Design and optimize scalable data pipelines and robust data models to solve complex business challenges.
• Represent engineering interests in critical customer conversations to identify pain points and drive product improvements.
• Embed within squads to support execution on complex technical initiatives and bridge critical gaps.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• 9+ years of professional software engineering experience including delivery of production software.
• 3+ years of formal people management experience.
• Strong background in data strategy, scalable data pipelines, and integrating core platform components.
• Proven ability to work in a highly distributed, asynchronous environment with excellent written communication.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or C#.

Nice to have

• Deep experience with non-relational datastores like Cosmos DB at scale.
• Practical knowledge of Azure ecosystem (Azure Storage, Redis Cache, Data Explorer).
• Experience with cloud environments and CNCF concepts.
• Expertise in scripting languages like Bash or Python for automation.
