Salary: $300,000 – $360,000 USD

What you will do

• Serve as the principal accounting authority for business combinations, equity investments, and joint ventures.
• Lead accounting due diligence and evaluate structuring alternatives for prospective transactions.
• Own end-to-end purchase accounting, including asset/liability valuation and goodwill assessment.
• Build and lead the M&A and Investments Accounting team, establishing playbooks and SOX-ready controls.
• Partner with Corporate Development, Legal, Tax, and Treasury to ensure accurate deal economics under US GAAP.
• Present transaction conclusions and financial impacts to the Controller, CFO, and Audit Committee.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 6+ years leading M&A accounting teams.
• Active CPA license is required.
• Significant Big 4 experience, ideally in Transaction/Deal Advisory or National Office.
• Deep command of US GAAP related to business combinations, consolidation, and fair value measurement.
• Proven ability to influence executive leadership and communicate complex accounting to non-accountants.
• Must be able to work in the San Francisco office at least 25% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience with S-X Rule 3-05 significance testing and pro forma financial information.
• Hands-on experience with AI-specific deal structures such as data and compute arrangements.
• Expertise in standing up SOX-compliant controls for non-routine transactions.
• Proficiency with NetSuite and complex financial modeling.
