TL;DR
Staff Application Engineer (Embedded): Developing firmware for embedded systems and wireless technologies, bridging R&D with customer engagement with an accent on identifying and resolving technical issues. Location: Cupertino, CA, USA. Willingness to occasionally travel within the Bay Area and internationally is required.
Salary: 135.000 - 215.000 USD

What you will do
- Work with key customers to understand their requirements and develop solutions.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues and bugs during development.
- Provide on-site and remote debugging, troubleshooting, and integration support.
- Prepare technical documentation, application notes, and demonstration materials.
- Capture customer feedback and relay it to R&D to influence future product development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in embedded firmware development (C/C++) and/or application engineering.
- Experience with wireless connectivity/network protocols (e.g., BLE, Thread, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, Matter).
- Experience with embedded hardware and debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers).
- Experience with customer-facing technical work in a semiconductor, IoT, or embedded systems environment.
- Excellent communication skills — able to translate complex technical details for both engineering and non-technical audiences.
Nice to have
- Experience with RTOS environments (Zephyr preferred).
- Familiarity with cloud integration and mobile application interfacing.
- Prior work with low-power embedded devices.
