Staff Embedded Engineer (IoT)

What you will do

• Shape the long-term embedded platform strategy and architecture for vehicle control systems, battery-powered IoT devices, and multi-MCU/MPU platforms.
• Translate rider and operator needs into reliable, maintainable platform-level design decisions.
• Develop edge platforms capable of hosting multiple machine learning models using computer vision and other sensors.
• Drive fleet-wide OTA infrastructure, remote diagnostics, observability, rollback strategies, and recovery of bricked devices.
• Improve CAN-based vehicle communication, power systems, GNSS, geofencing, Bluetooth, NFC, and sensor reliability.
• Lead technical reviews with internal teams, hardware suppliers, and manufacturing partners while mentoring engineers and improving CI/CD, testing, and release practices.

Requirements

• Extensive experience building and operating embedded or firmware systems in real-world environments at scale.
• Strong embedded C/C++ development skills and experience with low-power, real-time embedded systems.
• Deep understanding of firmware architecture, hardware/software integration, and distributed IoT systems.
• Proven ability to debug complex field issues across firmware, hardware, manufacturing, and connectivity layers.
• Strong experience with embedded communication protocols including CAN, SPI, I²C, UART, and BLE.
• Experience leading technical architecture decisions, mentoring engineers, and setting engineering standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with STM32 or other heterogeneous embedded architectures and modern RTOS platforms such as Zephyr.
• Knowledge of secure boot, TrustZone, TPMs, embedded security architectures, or Embedded Linux.
• Experience with GNSS, geofencing, sensor fusion, edge processing, and power optimization for battery-powered devices.
• Experience operating globally distributed IoT fleets and handling large-scale operational, factory, or fleet incidents.
