Location: New York, United States. Hybrid role, requires office attendance four days per week if living within a 50-mile commute of the office.

Salary: $188,000 – $304,200 per year (NYC metropolitan area).

What you will do

• Hire, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of Data Infrastructure Engineers.
• Define the technical vision for scalable, reliable Big Data infrastructure serving mission-critical AI applications.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and Security to build secure and seamless data workflows.
• Drive engineering standards, design reviews, and ensure a clean, well-documented codebase.
• Champion DevOps, SRE best practices, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep) across the organization.
• Oversee capacity planning and proactive bottleneck resolution in large-scale data pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of professional experience in data engineering, software development, or data science.
• Strong expertise in distributed systems and big data infrastructure.
• Proven track record of technical leadership and managing high-performing engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with containerized deployments (Kubernetes) and cloud-native environments.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).

Nice to have

• Deep experience with modern data platforms like Databricks, Spark, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with agentic workflow infrastructure (e.g., Semantic Kernel, AutoGen).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline management and production incident response.
• Experience with infrastructure security practices including IAM, OAuth, and Kerberos.
