Backend Engineer (AI)

Location: Based in Tokyo, Japan (Remote considered for exceptional candidates).

What you will do

• Develop and maintain backend services for testing and monitoring machine learning systems.
• Design and implement scalable APIs and backend architectures.
• Manage SQL databases and integrate external services like SSO.
• Collaborate with the full-stack team on parallel computing and multi-cloud deployments.
• Contribute to the technical strategy and product development in a fast-growing startup.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of backend software engineering experience.
• English proficiency is required.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn rapidly.
• Interest in MLOps, trustworthy ML, and responsible AI.
• Willingness to work in Tokyo, Japan (remote may be considered for exceptional talent).

Nice to have

• Full-stack development capabilities.
