Senior Look Development Artist

Senior Look Development Artist: Delivering high-quality assets and mentoring junior artists within the studio pipeline with an accent on solving difficult assets and applying client notes. Focus on writing and modifying custom Arnold/OSL shaders and developing standard lighting rigs for look development.

Location: Hybrid (Vancouver, British Columbia). Must be based in British Columbia and eligible to work in Canada

Salary: $117,000 to $130,000/year for a 40 hour work week

What you will do

• Create final look developed assets with minimal supervision within the studio pipeline.
• Apply client notes to all assets with minimal guidance.
• Identify solutions and approaches to solve difficult assets without guidance.
• Write and/or modify custom Arnold/OSL shaders to realize the desired look for production integration.
• Assist in developing standard lighting rigs & setups for look development.
• Work closely with texture artists to create necessary texture maps for your work on creatures, props and environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ of Look Development experience with high end film.
• Demonstrated proficiency in defining and creating photo-realistic assets.
• Experience with rendering large datasets.
• Thorough understanding of traditional art skills (Form, architecture, anatomy, topology, colour theory) and how to apply those skills in a digital medium.
• Senior level experience in MEL / Python / C++.
• Proven Senior level experience in Maya.
