3D Generalist (Unreal Engine 5): Creating high-quality 3D game assets from blockout to final in-engine implementation with an accent on hard-surface modeling, PBR texturing, and performance optimization for large-scale multiplayer environments. Focus on building immersive, performant content by collaborating across art leadership and multiple disciplines and troubleshooting asset issues directly in Unreal Engine 5.
Location: New Westminster, British Columbia (Hybrid)
Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 CAD per year

What you will do
- Create 3D game assets from blockout through final Unreal Engine 5 implementation.
- Model, sculpt, unwrap, bake, and texture assets including props, set dressing, environments, weapons, vehicles, and character accessories.
- Work within art direction, technical budgets, and production pipelines to deliver visually strong and performant content.
- Optimize assets, materials, and scene content for performance in Unreal Engine 5, including reuse and adaptation of existing assets.
- Collaborate with Art Directors, Leads, Designers, Technical Artists, and other disciplines to meet gameplay and technical requirements.
- Troubleshoot asset issues in engine and support polish, bug fixing, and workflow improvements.
Requirements
- Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality 3D art for games.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling packages such as Maya, Blender, or equivalent.
- Experience with sculpting tools such as ZBrush or 3D-Coat.
- Strong understanding of UV layout, map baking, and PBR texturing workflows.
- Experience with Substance Painter for game-ready materials and textures.
- Experience implementing and polishing assets in Unreal Engine 5, including hard-surface modeling and optimization (texel density, modular workflows, engine limitations).
Nice to have
- Experience creating assets for realistic or grounded military games.
- Hard-surface modeling experience with tools such as Plasticity, Fusion, or Shapr3D.
- Experience with foliage, terrain assets, or world-building pipelines.
- Knowledge of trim sheets, material blending, and modular environment workflows.
- Experience supporting outsourcing pipelines or reviewing external work.
