What you will do

• Create high-quality textures adhering to strict production design specifications.
• Apply expert brushwork to achieve a stylized, painterly aesthetic on sets, props, and characters.
• Dial in and modify shader networks while monitoring rendering performance.
• Design and build reusable, optimized material setups for the studio pipeline.
• Collaborate effectively with modeling, lighting, and look-dev departments.
• Mentor junior artists if applying for the senior-level position.

Requirements

• Must be legally eligible to work in British Columbia, Canada.
• Professional experience with Mari, Substance Painter, and Photoshop.
• Strong traditional painting skills and deep understanding of color theory.
• Bachelor's Degree in 3D animation or equivalent industry experience.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong painting skills and surface texture work.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in Look Dev.
• Technical ability to model using Maya or ZBrush.
