Salary: CAD 78,400–116,020 per year, with potential additional bonus, equity awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Establish visual targets and raise the quality bar for character assets in collaboration with art leadership.
• Create high-quality digital sculpts, textures, character assets, and realistic groomed hair.
• Develop procedural hair grooms with XGen and Ornatrix and author optimized hair cards for real-time rendering.
• Assemble and integrate character assets in Unreal Engine 5 while balancing visual quality and performance.
• Collaborate with animators, artists, technical artists, and concept artists to support a cohesive player experience.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in the games, film, or animation industry.
• Experience shipping at least one AAA game title.
• Strong skills in character grooming with XGen or Ornatrix.
• Knowledge of Maya, Unreal Engine 5, Substance Painter and Designer, ZBrush, Marvelous Designer, Photoshop, and PBR workflows.
• Understanding of human anatomy, clothing construction, blendshapes, facial animation, and 3D-scanned assets.
• Strong communication skills, independence, self-direction, and the ability to incorporate feedback.
