Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Vancouver, Canada. This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days per week in the Vancouver office.

Salary: $199,000–$244,000

What you will do

• Drive the design and implementation of new features while breaking down complex problems into maintainable code.
• Design and deliver robust microservices integrations using REST/gRPC APIs and messaging patterns.
• Create and maintain test automation to ensure high-quality continuous integration.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with data science, product, and design teams.
• Debug production issues across complex service infrastructure and the full technical stack.
• Mentor engineers through architecture and code reviews.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one JVM language (Java, Kotlin, or Scala).
• Experience with Spring or Spring Boot frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with SQL databases and cloud environments like AWS.
• Experience with streaming/messaging technologies such as Kafka, SNS, SQS, or Kinesis.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity from Vancouver, Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes and microservice architecture.
• Experience with NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency using AI-assisted development tools like Copilot or Cursor.
