What you will do

• Develop and maintain Devices Cloud services, including telemetry ingest, state management, and data pipelines.
• Own feature implementation and technical designs from inception to production, delivering reliable and well-tested code.
• Integrate AI-native engineering practices (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) into daily coding, testing, and debugging workflows.
• Collaborate with firmware, mobile, and platform teams to build APIs across the hardware-software boundary.
• Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to incident response and post-mortems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend or cloud services engineering.
• Must be based in the US or Canada.
• Proficiency with AWS infrastructure (EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, Kinesis).
• Experience with high-frequency ingest systems, time-series data, and streaming platforms like Kafka or Kinesis.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants for substantive engineering tasks.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with IoT, telematics, embedded systems, or firmware-adjacent technologies.
• Knowledge of hardware communication protocols such as MQTT, BLE, or CoAP.
• Background in SRE practices and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or DataDog.
• Contributions to open-source projects, conference talks, or technical publications.
