What you will do

• Architect and develop features for Spark and Trino-based distributed data processing engines.
• Design fault-tolerant strategies for high availability and graceful degradation of clusters.
• Implement comprehensive telemetry and observability frameworks to monitor system performance.
• Optimize resource allocation and auto-scaling for multi-tenant cloud environments.
• Develop algorithms to facilitate interactive querying over massive datasets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure platform readiness for production at scale.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience in Java or Scala in Linux/Unix environments.
• 3+ years of experience in database internals, query processing, or distributed systems.
• Proven experience operating large-scale distributed systems in public cloud environments (AWS or GCP).
• Strong grasp of SQL and distributed data processing engines like Apache Spark.
• Hands-on experience with Trino or Presto.
• Experience architecting and tuning systems for high availability and massive horizontal scale.

Nice to have

• Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Cursor.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
