Staff Software Engineer (Domains)

Location: Hybrid role based in Aveiro, Portugal, with three days per week in the office

What you will do

• Lead technical strategy, architecture, and implementation for a major area of the domains business.
• Design and build scalable, highly available, and reliable distributed systems for domain and email products.
• Drive engineering best practices, participate in design reviews, and identify technical risks and assumptions.
• Guide engineers in architecting solutions at scale and mentor software engineers across experience levels.
• Connect technical investments with business priorities and contribute to product roadmap planning.
• Write long-term technical strategies and contribute hands-on code to complex or ambiguous engineering challenges.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building large-scale software and highly available, reliable distributed systems.
• Experience developing and implementing long-term technical strategy.
• Ability to create effective designs for complex problems and lead teams in implementing them.
• Strong technical leadership, communication, and feedback skills.
• Hands-on, pragmatic approach to turning ideas into working software.
• Availability to work from the Aveiro office three days per week.
