Staff Software Engineer (Fintech)

hirify.global is building an AI-powered financial ecosystem for Latin immigrants in the U.S., starting with WhatsApp-based remittances and using AI, blockchain, and stablecoins for cross-border payments.

What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize foundational microservices and infrastructure powering customer-facing and business-critical products.
• Improve platform resilience through failure handling, retries, circuit breakers, fallbacks, automated recovery, monitoring, and observability.
• Identify bottlenecks and improve system efficiency, scalability, availability, and performance during hyper-growth.
• Set the platform architecture vision and guide decisions around service interactions, data flows, APIs, and event-driven standards.
• Collaborate with Staff Engineers across Payments, Disbursements, and GRC on shared infrastructure and contracts.
• Mentor Senior and Mid-level Engineers and promote strong practices in system design, testing, domain-driven design, and CI/CD.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating complex distributed systems.
• Expertise in Python, Go, or Java, plus REST APIs, gRPC, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, idempotency, concurrency control, failure domains, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with resilience engineering, observability, GCP or equivalent cloud-native platforms, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Ability to set architectural direction, solve ambiguous business problems, communicate with executives, and align multiple teams.
• Must be based in Seattle, Washington, USA, work in a hybrid model, and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship. Fluent or advanced English required.
