Senior Software Engineer, Web (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role with four days per week in the office; offices in London, United Kingdom and Amsterdam, Netherlands.

What you will do

• Design, implement, extend, and maintain web software handling millions of requests per day and presenting market data.
• Design end-to-end full-stack solutions covering frontend visualisations, backend API integrations, and SQL database schemas and queries.
• Implement automated unit and full-stack tests, investigate systemic issues, and validate changes before deployment.
• Support certification and production environments, including occasional weekend and out-of-hours testing to maintain system performance and availability.
• Contribute to requirements gathering, technical specifications, documentation, sprint planning, and peer code reviews.
• Mentor software engineers and act as a subject matter expert for one or more systems or technologies.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience developing high-performance, data-driven websites.
• Strong experience with Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Linux or UNIX-like systems, and MVC web frameworks, preferably Django.
• Experience with ReactJS, Apache, PostgreSQL or other SQL databases, and Python unit testing.
• Knowledge of modern web standards, including HTML5 and CSS3, and experience with full-stack web testing.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering, or equivalent demonstrable knowledge.
• Strong communication, documentation, requirements analysis, project coordination, and mentoring skills.
