Senior Software Engineer (Python)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid with office attendance three days a week

Salary: £85,000–£105,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Design and deliver customer-facing features with engineers, product managers, and designers.
• Build clean, tested, and maintainable software across the Python backend and React frontend.
• Own significant areas of the architecture and drive technical improvements.
• Design scalable APIs, services, and data models.
• Review code, mentor engineers, and improve development practices and tooling.
• Monitor production systems, improve reliability and performance, and integrate third-party platforms.

Requirements

• Production software development experience across frontend and backend technologies, with a backend focus.
• Strong Python experience with frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Experience designing, building, and operating production software.
• Experience working with APIs and integrating third-party services.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• A pragmatic approach to problem-solving and a focus on high-quality software.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Experience with AI-powered products, machine learning systems, or data-intensive applications.
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems.
