What you will do

• Provide technical leadership, architecture design, and mentorship for the Product API team.
• Collaborate with product and client engineering to deliver performant GraphQL APIs.
• Evolve critical subsystems including recommendations, search, notifications, and user preferences.
• Optimize API infrastructure for sub-second response times and high availability.
• Implement observability tools to monitor API performance and debug system issues.
• Work with infrastructure and data science teams to support A/B testing and feature rollouts.

Requirements

• Must have 8+ years of software development experience.
• Must be authorized to work and reside within the United States.
• Strong experience designing and implementing GraphQL APIs at scale.
• Proficiency in backend languages such as NodeJS, Ruby, Golang, or Python.
• Deep understanding of cloud environments, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Experience with both relational and non-relational database design and query optimization.

Nice to have

• Prior experience managing or leading engineering teams.
• Expertise in video streaming product ecosystems or machine learning infrastructure.
• Advanced knowledge of federation patterns and complex schema design.
