TL;DR

Business Development & Capture Lead (DoD): Leading the full capture lifecycle for federal defense contracts with an accent on strategy, customer engagement, and proposal orchestration in the DoD and Air Force landscape. Focus on building strategic alliances, positioning complex technical services, and securing high-value government awards through hands-on leadership.

Location: Must be based in the US (Remote-friendly with preference for Washington, DC, San Antonio, TX, or Boston, MA). Eligibility for DoD Security Clearance (Top Secret preferred) is required.

What you will do

  • Lead or co-lead the capture lifecycle from initial discovery through final contract award.
  • Develop win themes, orchestrate proposal writing, and manage capture strategy in lean environments.
  • Build and maintain high-level relationships with DoD and Air Force decision-makers.
  • Partner with leadership to identify and influence acquisition requirements for national-level contracts.
  • Position technical services like DevSecOps, AI, cloud architecture, and cybersecurity for federal pursuits.
  • Represent the organization at customer sessions, industry conferences, and internal strategy events.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in federal business development or capture management within GovCon or tech consulting.
  • Proven track record of meaningful contributions to successful multi-million-dollar federal pursuits.
  • Familiarity with Air Force acquisition and the broader DoD ecosystem.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance (Top Secret preferred).
  • Proficiency with CRM and pipeline tools such as Salesforce, Deltek GovWin, or Monday.com.
  • Strong self-starter mentality with a focus on ownership, accountability, and measurable results.
