Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Location: Hybrid; requires regular office attendance in San Francisco or New York City

Salary: $200,000–$220,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services supporting hirify.global’s data presentation layer.
• Develop and expand integrations to increase data coverage and support new product verticals.
• Build, test, and maintain reliable integrations that meet security, scalability, and performance requirements.
• Lead large product initiatives from problem definition and engineering scoping through execution and delivery.
• Deploy code daily and write maintainable, testable, scalable software.
• Debug issues across the stack using observability tools and collaborate with product, engineering, and support teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant backend development experience, preferably in a startup environment.
• Deep experience with APIs, backend technologies, system design, and distributed systems.
• Professional experience with Node, PostgreSQL, Redis, Git, API authentication and authorization, particularly OAuth.
• Experience with a cloud provider and distributed messaging systems.
• Strong testing knowledge and experience delivering large, ambiguous projects across multiple teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, stakeholder influence, and understanding of agile software development practices.

• Experience with AWS.
• Experience with test-driven development.
