TL;DR

Global Benefits Lead (HR): Developing and executing a comprehensive global benefits strategy for a distributed workforce with an accent on compliance, scalability, and financial modeling. Location: Hybrid (NYC, San Francisco, London, Berlin) or Remote if located beyond commuting distance

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 (San Francisco base)

What you will do

  • Define and execute global benefits philosophy, covering health, retirement, leave, and wellness.
  • Lead the design and implementation of a U.S. self-insured health plan, including vendor selection and risk assessment.
  • Manage benefits programs in partnership with EOR providers to ensure global compliance.
  • Oversee annual open enrollment cycles and global benefits reporting.
  • Forecast and manage the global benefits budget through financial modeling and cost analysis.
  • Build and document scalable operational processes to support organizational growth.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in global benefits management at a scaling company.
  • Significant experience working with distributed workforces and EOR partners.
  • Direct involvement in implementing or managing U.S. self-insured health plans.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. health/welfare and 401k administration, with understanding of international statutory benefits.
  • Experience managing benefits budgets and creating financial models.
  • Ability to synthesize complex benefits data into clear communication for stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Background in supporting rapid international expansion.
  • Expertise in transitioning from fully insured to self-insured models.
  • Experience implementing or optimizing global benefits administration systems.
  • History of designing engagement-focused wellness programs.
