Staff Software Engineer (Web3)

Location: Toronto, Canada; in-person attendance required at least 3 days per week

Base pay: CAD 200,000–235,000 per year, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the technical vision and execution for Robinhood Chain, the Tokenization Engine, and Robinhood Wallet.
• Design, build, and operate core services for large-scale Web3 and financial platforms.
• Write production code and lead complex implementations while setting engineering quality standards.
• Drive reliability, correctness, observability, security, and adoption of modern AI tooling.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, architecture discussions, and hands-on technical leadership.
• Align platform direction with adjacent organizations and company-wide initiatives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Backend development expertise with Go, Python, or Java and deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures.
• 3+ years leading large-scale technical initiatives across multiple teams or complex systems.
• Strong understanding of system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience simplifying complex problems, making trade-offs, aligning stakeholders, and delivering end-to-end product outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and raising technical standards.
