Senior AI Engineer (Evisort AI)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; Flex work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field

Annual base salary: CAD 169,000–253,000

What you will do

• Develop AI-powered user experiences using large language models, foundation models, knowledge graphs, personalization, and predictive analysis.
• Build and deploy document intelligence and contract intelligence products that help automate contract drafting, negotiation, review, approval, and management.
• Design software and data engineering systems for training, deployment, and lifecycle management of AI pipelines.
• Architect scalable backend services and reusable application layers around AI models.
• Prototype, benchmark, and evaluate model outputs, retrieval quality, and agentic behavior against product requirements.
• Provide technical leadership, own engineering workstreams, and mentor junior-to-mid-level engineers while collaborating with product, design, and ML infrastructure teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on backend architecture, distributed systems, system design, scalability, performance, and high-availability production code.
• 3+ years integrating AI capabilities such as LLMs or foundation models into enterprise products.
• 1–2+ years building AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex and reliable agentic workflows.
• 4+ years using cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, plus 2+ years operating containerized cloud-native services with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and GitOps tools, observability, feature flags, databases, caching, messaging, testing, security scanning, and dependency management.
• Strong experience with Python backend services and REST APIs, familiarity with React and TypeScript, and a track record of technical leadership and mentoring.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Sentry, Datadog, LaunchDarkly, PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, Kafka, or SQS.
