Sr. Software Engineer II, AI on Sensor – Mac, Linux, or Windows (Hybrid) (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in Sunnyvale, California, with additional locations in New York, Austin, Redmond, and Toronto. U.S. candidates must be eligible to work in the United States; Canadian employment requires legal entitlement to work in Canada.

Base salary: $160,000–$250,000 per year for U.S. candidates; $175,000–$250,000 CAD per year for Canadian-based employment, plus variable compensation, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and develop AI-based capabilities for the next-generation endpoint sensor across macOS, Linux, and Windows.
• Operationalize machine learning models on endpoint devices and build telemetry pipelines for training, evaluation, and on-device inference.
• Integrate AI functionality with sensor features covering file systems, memory, processes, and networking.
• Collaborate with sensor development teams on architecture and strategic initiatives.
• Own features from design through delivery, including sprint-end product demonstrations.
• Guide teams in designing and implementing cross-platform software.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of C and C++.
• Hands-on experience deploying machine learning models on endpoints and building sensor telemetry pipelines.
• Extensive knowledge of macOS, Linux, or Windows internals.
• Swift experience for macOS-focused candidates; Windows kernel and driver development experience for Windows-focused candidates.
• Experience debugging memory corruption, process contention, and system performance bottlenecks.
• Ability to lead, mentor, communicate, and collaborate within a geographically distributed team.

Nice to have

• Experience developing scalable, lightweight, high-performance systems.
• Strong expertise in operating-system concepts and subsystems.
• Agile development experience.
• Knowledge of security principles.
• Experience with eBPF.
