Software Engineer, Globalization (Python/AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in Bellevue, Washington; Chicago, Illinois; or Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Salary: $132,000–$181,500 USD annually or $114,000–$157,300 CAD annually, depending on location and qualifications.

What you will do

• Architect, develop, and maintain localization automation workflows using Python, REST APIs, agentic workflows, and enterprise translation management systems.
• Connect TMS platforms with content repositories, CI/CD pipelines, internal microservices, and custom data connectors.
• Integrate LLM APIs and custom machine translation pipelines to improve localization quality, speed, and cost efficiency.
• Investigate architectural failures, API and file-parsing conflicts, distributed-system bottlenecks, and production reliability issues.
• Conduct code-level internationalization reviews across React, Go, and Java codebases and create AST-based analysis tools.
• Build CLI tools, custom linters, pseudo-localization hooks, and CI/CD guardrails that identify hardcoded strings, concatenation, and UI truncation.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of experience in software or globalization engineering, including localization solutions at scale.
• Expert-level Python, API development, software engineering, testing, and production automation experience.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs and custom machine translation pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of TMS architecture, content parsing, and formats including JSON, XML, XLIFF, and properties.
• Experience reviewing React, Go, or Java code using AST-based parsing or linting, plus enterprise CMS or MSM platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager.
• Ability to work independently as the sole technical owner while managing multiple technical projects.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Git, and automated testing for internationalization workflows.
• Experience analyzing and reporting localization workflow performance.
