Forward Deployed Engineer

TL;DR

Forward Deployed Engineer (Backend): Embed with enterprise customers to architect and ship production systems on a global network including voice, messaging, AI, and wireless with an accent on real-time communications and cloud-native API integrations. Focus on building scalable custom solutions, leading POCs to production, and troubleshooting complex integration issues.

Location: San Francisco, CA, hybrid role with 10–30% travel to customer sites

What you will do

• Embed with enterprise customers to understand communications workflows, AI use cases, and integration challenges
• Build and deploy custom implementations including AI Voice Assistants, hirify.global APIs, and WebRTC
• Lead POCs, pilots, and production launches from whiteboard to go-live
• Own customer outcomes ensuring solutions are live and stable
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to influence roadmap based on field insights
• Create technical documentation and troubleshoot complex integration issues

Requirements

• Based in San Francisco for hybrid work and travel
• 3+ years of software development or technical consulting experience
• Proficiency in Python, Node.js, and Go
• Experience with SIP, WebRTC, or real-time voice/messaging systems
• Strong API fluency and cloud-native development skills
• Ability to lead technical discussions and troubleshoot root causes

Nice to have

• Experience with AI voice assistants, speech-to-text, or LLM conversational systems
• SQL and ETL/data wrangling skills
• DevOps fundamentals including Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD
• Background in telecom, CPaaS, or high-growth SaaS
• Security mindset including IAM, encryption, and audit logging
