TL;DR
Forward Deployed Engineer (AI/Connectivity): Building and deploying production systems for enterprise customers across voice, messaging, AI, wireless, and WebRTC with an accent on custom integrations, APIs, and real-time communications. Focus on leading POCs through production go-live, troubleshooting complex integration issues, and owning stable customer outcomes at scale.
Location: United States; remote role with 10–30% travel to customer sites

What you will do
- Embed with enterprise customers to understand communications workflows, AI use cases, and integration challenges.
- Build and deploy custom implementations using AI voice assistants, Voice, Messaging, Fax, and Wireless APIs, and WebRTC.
- Lead POCs, pilots, and production launches from technical design through go-live.
- Own customer outcomes through deployment, stabilization, and handoff.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape the roadmap based on field insights.
- Create technical documentation and runbooks, and troubleshoot complex integration issues with customer teams.
Requirements
- Computer science degree or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of software engineering or technical consulting experience.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including Python, Node.js, and Go.
- Strong API fluency, event-driven thinking, and cloud-native engineering instincts.
- Exposure to SIP, WebRTC, or real-time voice and messaging systems.
- Ability to work on customer sites and lead high-stakes technical conversations.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI voice assistants, speech-to-text, or LLM-based conversational systems.
- SQL proficiency with Postgres, MySQL, or Oracle.
- ETL and data wrangling experience.
- DevOps fundamentals including Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
- Telecom, CPaaS, or high-growth SaaS experience, plus a security mindset covering IAM, encryption, and audit logging.
