Control Engineer (Power Electronics): Developing and validating control algorithms, mathematical models, and high-performance control systems for power electronics converters and energy conversion systems with an accent on stability, bandwidth, robustness, and real-time implementation. Focus on small- and large-signal analysis, MATLAB/Simulink simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and integrating controls with digital platforms.

What you will do

  • Develop control algorithms for power electronics converters and power systems.
  • Model controlled plants and analyse system dynamics, stability regions, bandwidth limitations, and robustness.
  • Design and tune controllers using PI, state-space, observer-based, or equivalent methods.
  • Simulate and validate control performance through MATLAB/Simulink, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and experimental measurements.
  • Collaborate with power electronics, firmware, and systems engineers to implement integrated controls on microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs.
  • Analyse experimental results and prepare technical documentation, design reports, and validation summaries.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in a similar control engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of control algorithms for power systems and power electronics.
  • Experience analysing stability margins, bandwidth, robustness, system modelling, and linearisation.
  • Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent control simulation tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to have

  • Experience implementing control algorithms on digital platforms.
  • Good understanding of real-time control constraints and sampling effects.
  • German language skills.
