Internship - Controls Engineering (m/f/d)

Location: Austria; Engineering department in Jenbach

Salary: at least €2,698.59 gross per month, paid 14 times per year, according to the Austrian collective agreement

hirify.global develops gas engine products and generator-engine technologies for power generation applications.

What you will do

• Develop novel controls solutions to improve the performance of gas engine products.
• Investigate nonlinear model-based control algorithms for fast and robust transient behavior of generator-engine sets.
• Develop dynamic engine-generator-grid models using MATLAB Simulink, PowerFactory, and other simulation tools.
• Build real-time models for hardware-in-the-loop applications and expand offline testing and simulation capabilities.
• Develop C++ microcontroller-embedded algorithms for combustion control of hydrogen-fueled engines.
• Translate functional requirements into technical specifications and design solutions in cooperation with controls, measurement, and grid code teams.

Requirements

• Ongoing Bachelor's or Master's studies in electrical engineering, mechatronic engineering, or a related field.
• Educational experience in controls design, including MATLAB and PowerFactory.
• Experience or knowledge in modeling electrical equipment, electrical machines, or power systems.
• Basic understanding of reciprocating engines and power systems.
• Interest in software development and ability to work as part of a team.
• Full-time availability for at least 6 months; extension is possible.
